Major innovation

The second edition of the NASLA competitive entrance examinations has undergone a change. By virtue of the aforementioned Orders, the Minister of Decentralization and Local Development, Mr Georges ELANGA OBAM, has introduced another type of candidate:

  • Candidates who work will henceforth take part in competitive entrance examinations. In addition to the conditions laid down in the Orders, they must also obtain authorisation to sit the exam from their various employers;
  • The drop in the registration fee for the competitive entrance examination, which now stands at CFAF twenty thousand (20,000) per candidate for all types of applications (external, internal, employee candidates) and all cycles combined, in accordance with Order No. 000490/MINFI of 21 December 2022 specifying the practical modalities for implementing fees for administrative competitive entrance examinations;
  • The choice of Buea as the unique examination centre for cycles A, B, and C.

Context

It should be noted that the competitive entrance examinations that have been launched are part of the deepening of the decentralization process. The Government created the National School of Local Administration (NASLA) as an institutional mechanism for professional training in the administration of Councils, Regions and their establishments, unions or associations. Regional and Local Authorities need qualified officials and workers to boost their performance in promoting local development in general and improving living conditions for the local population in particular. NASLA offers a suitable high-quality training in this area.
